Abstract

A small black Parapsaenythia is described from Vilhena, Rondônia, Brasil. This species can be easily distinguished by lacking yellow and ferruginous marks. It is very densely and finely punctured and marginal depressions marked. Parapsaenythia costaricensis Friese, 1921, is excluded from this genus, and some comments are made on Parapasenythia fusca Vachal, 1909.
