Abstract

Chemoselective reduction of alkyl, aryl, aroyl and arylsulfonyl azides to the parent amines or amides, respectively, occurs in excellent yields upon treatment with a novel inexpensive reduction system consisting of FeCl3-Zn at room temperature.
