Abstract

The article compares the systems of health promotion in Japan and the United States. International collaboration in heath promotion is already occurring but it is critical to examine the external validity of research findings when disseminating findings across nations and cultures. Works in the United States may not necessarily work in Japan or any other cultures and nations that have different systems of health delivery, labor, and education. In Japan, the field of health promotion lacks solid data-driven research. Also evaluation has not been strong in the entire health care system in Japan.
