Abstract

Empty fruit bunches of palm oil is a byproduct of the processing of palm oil. Rice husks is a byproduct of rice grinding process will be a waste grinding. Empty fruit bunches of oil palm and rice husks is waste utilization is still not used optimally. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the size of the empty fruit bunches to the value of N, P, K, and C / N ratio of compost. At this composting process, the addition of materials is done by varying the size of the empty fruit bunches are 5 and 7.5 cm. The research material in the form of empty fruit bunches of oil palm, rice husks and cow dung. The study was conducted during 40 days. The results showed that the nutrient content of compost for the N content of 0.74% on the A1. P content of 0.17% in B1. K content of 0.18% in A2. Levels of C / N ratio of 17-20 on all composter. variations in the size of 5 and 7.5 cm in composting has no effect on the nutrient content of compost, because oil palm empty fruit bunches that are not easily degraded by microorganisms.
