Abstract
Despite the euphoria, the question remains if electronic voting is the ultimate answer to the problems lingering Indonesia’s Presidential Election. There are issues of infrastructure unreadiness and people’s reluctance to accept the technology on one hand. The are also issues of the lack of standard and framework, as well as policies and regulations, prior to its implementation on the other. Whether or not Indonesia could use the technology in their Presidential Election, the challenge is to firstly address these problems properly. This paper proposes a multi- disciplinary research scheme to answer the challege. The results provide a platform for e-democracy in Indonesia through increases of people’s participation in the government.
