Abstract
Doing psychotherapeutic work with children in foster care is difficult due to : a multiplicity of parters (parents, foster family, social workers, judge), the apparent refusal of these children to talk about their symptoms and especially about their family history, the frequent intervention of reality in the cure which can compromise its continuation. How then, can all these elements be organized so that the work of the cure can be guaranteed by the psychoanalyst and not be abandoned in reaction to external events ? The psychotherapy of Yassine allows us to address all of these questions. A long experience of cures with children in foster care has brought me to think about the expression « maintenance of ties » which too often seems to be understood as an injunction to be carried out in reality whereas it is actually at the intra-psychic, symbolic level that this connection should be elaborated.
