Religious Education and the Limits of Political Liberalism

Abstract

The author offers insights on the dynamics of religious education with regard to the views offered by philosopher John Rawls on political liberalism. Topics discussed include the observed conceptualization of religious diversity and identity by public religious education, the need for political liberalism due to the existence of several religions with varying philosophical outlooks according to Rawls, and the distinction between the moral, political, and personal identity of an individual.
