Abstract

It is shown that a suitably configured Doppler system observing a single approaching target, produces time-dilated replica of the received echo. For a receding target the output is time inverted as well as dilated. These results are used to calculate an expression for the output spectrum of a pulsed RF Doppler system, when observing a dilute suspension of moving scatterers.
