Abstract

The essay ARoom of Ones Own, published in 1929 meant a landmark in women's literary history and it sets up an important socio-political analysis from the perspective of gender. The article presented here is a detailed reflection on the essay and the context which surrounds its creation. The subtle, ironic and sensitive analysis done by Woolf in her essay shows the accurate perception of the power relationship established between men and women, and constitutes another link in the chain of feminine vindication for their emancipation and liberation.
