Abstract

The Effect of Problem Based Learning Adaptation on Academic Achievement in Medical Education Students. Adaptability is needed by students because of differences in learning methods during education in high school and college. Medical education uses the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning method which is student-centered problem-based learning and is required to be able to solve the problem. This study aims to identify the adaptability of PBL to academic achievement and its influence. This study uses descriptive analytic method by observing data on the influence of one variable with another variable and cross sectional approach. The tools used to measure student adaptability to PBL are Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ) and Grade Point Average. The results showed that first-year students obtained a p-value of 0.318 so that there was no effect of PBL adaptation on GPA. In second-year students, a p-value of 0.912 was obtained so that there was no effect of PBL adaptation on GPA. In third year students, the p-value is 0.02 so that there is an effect of PBL adaptation on GPA. After analyzing the effect of PBL adaptation on GPA in students in each generation, it can be concluded that 2019 students, namely third-year students, have an influence between PBL adaptation on GPA with good adaptation skills compared to students in other years.
