Abstract

Muscle is one of the most ubiquitous tissues on the planet. From the tiniest insects to colossal blue whales, the vast majority of most organisms’ movements are directly powered by the relentless motion of ATP-consuming myosin heads on thick myosin filaments shuffling along thin actin filaments.
