Abstract
Research on ferrite nanomaterials is rapidly progressing due to their expanding applications in magnetic devices, sensors, antibacterial systems and medical technologies. This review provides a comprehensive comparative analysis of two widely employed synthesis routes for ferrites: the sol–gel auto-combustion method and the co-precipitation technique. It examines the fundamental principles, processing parameters, and characterization approaches associated with each method, highlighting their respective advantages, limitations, and suitability for specific applications. By systematically contrasting these synthesis strategies, this review aims to offer valuable insights that can guide researchers in selecting optimal fabrication routes for targeted ferrite nanomaterial properties, thereby advancing the development of high-performance functional materials.
