Abstract

Purpose: The construction of rankings is an important element of city assessment consistent with the Smart City concept. New rankings appear periodically. New sets of variables or concepts for ranking are proposed. The article is part of this trend. Design/methodology/approach: The article combines the hierarchical structure of areas and indicators used in Smart City assessment with the concept of multidimensional assessment of facilities using the TOPSIS method. Findings: Assessment of the possibility of using the presented method to evaluate both individual areas of the city operation combined with an overall assessment. Originality/value: The most important achievement of this article is the proposal of the concept of city evaluation using the TOPSIS (SCI2T) method. An assessment of selected cities based on the proposed method is also presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
