Abstract

Dinamika erupsi Gunung Lokon pada tanggal 12 September 2014 sangat menarik untuk dipelajari karena berbeda dengan erupsi-erupsi sebelumnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menginvestigasi prekusor seismik yang memicu erupsi tersebut. Perangkat lunak Seismovolcanalysis digunakan untuk mengklasifikasi tipe dan jumlah, frekuensi dominan, durasi gempa dan energi dari gempa-gempa selang waktu 1-12 September 2014. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gempa-gempa Hibrid dan LP memainkan peran penting sebagai prekursor erupsi. Peningkatan kejadian Hibrid dan LP diduga terkait dengan peningkatan proses degassing di dalam saluran vulkanik. Diperlukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk menyelidiki mekanisme sumber gempa LP dan gempa HibridIt is interesting to study of the dynamics of Lokon volcano eruption on September 12, 2014 because they were different from previous eruptions. This research was conducted to investigate the seismic precursors triggered the eruption. Seismovolcanalysis software was used to classify type and number, dominant frequency, duration and energy of earthquakes between September 1-12, 2014. Result showed the Hybrid and LP events play an important role as a precursor eruption. Increasing Hybrid and LP events allegedly associated with increased degassing process in the conduit. A further study is needed to investigate source mechanism of the LP and Hybrid events.
