Abstract

This is an evaluative, documental, expost study, aiming to analyze the implementation of two centers of the Sports and Leisure Program of the City in a Federal Institution of Higher Education (IFES) in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Through the public-public partnership, thirty workshops were offered, individual ones, with a greater inclination to health promotion (pilates, bodybuilding, gymnastics/rhythms and functional training), implemented in all periods evaluated. The overall effectiveness of the program was high at baseline (1.00), declining with its development – September (0.74) and March (0.43). In particular, in the general analysis, by workshop, swimming (0.85), water aerobics (0.85), gymnastics/rhythms (0.71), bodybuilding (0.66) and pilates (0.66) were more effective. Each user cost R$ 1,215.39 for fifteen months - R$ 81.02 per month, R$ 20.25 per week and R$ 10.12 per service. It is concluded that the partnership enabled sport and leisure to university students with lower cost than other programs and moderate effectiveness.
