Abstract

The microstructures of metal-nonmetal nano-granular soft magnetic films, precipitation hardened stainless steel and Al-Mg-Si alloys, have been studied by small-angle X-ray/neutron scattering (SAXS/SANS). Quantitative evaluation of average scale of their microstructures in nanometer scale has been accomplished by SAXS and SANS. Using this information, the contribution of the microstructures to the magnetic and mechanical properties are discussed in this paper. © 2006 The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry.
