Abstract
The reversal of soft-tissue abnormalities and prolonged lifespan observed in klotho-/- mice following genetic inactivation of 1α-hydroxylase underscores the pathophysiological role of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D in mediating some of the premature aging-like features observed in klotho/- mice. © 2009 International Society of Nephrology.
