Abstract
This research is entitled Strategies to Increase Student Motivation in Al-Qur'an Recitation Extracurricular Activities at Al-Hidayah High School Medan. The problem that arises is the motivation of students in studying and reading the Qur'an and there are still students who are less interested in participating in extracurricular activities of Al-Qur'an Recitation. This study aims to: Find out the strategy for implementing the extracurricular activities of Al-Qur'an Recitation for students at Al-Hidayah High School Medan. To find out efforts to increase student motivation in extracurricular activities of Al-Qur'an Recitation at Al-Hidayah High School Medan. This type of research is qualitative research. This research was conducted by collecting data, namely: interviews, observation, documentation. The results obtained are the level of students' ability to read the Qur'an varies at the Al-Hidayah High School Medan, this can be seen in terms of reading and recitation because there are still students who are less interested in studying and reading the Qur'an. In order to give students the ability to read the Qur'an well, they must use strategies and be accompanied by motivation to support the success of students in improving their reading and studying the Qur'an. Thus extracurricular at school refers to a clear vision and mission.
