Abstract

For the past 50 years, the search has continued for systemically administered agents that can produce profound and lasting effects on human cancers. This has led to the use of many cytoxically and hormonally active agents and, more recently, to the use of biologic agents. The author presents the 10th in a series of periodic updates in this journal on the current status of systemic treatment of cancer.
