Abstract

An outbreak of liver-cell carcinoma, involving at least 50 000 saltwater-reared rainbow trout Salmo gairdnerj in 5 Danish marine trout farms, was associated with aflatoxin-contaminated feed from a single feed producer. Light and electron rnicroscopical examination confirmed the diagnosis. Epidenuological aspects of the problem are considered and discussed.
