Abstract

a) Calculations are presented which show that the vibrational dipole field of the OH- ion at ≈3600 cm-1 is great enough to participate effectively in ion-pair processes with rare earth ions. b) It is suggested that energy transfer from an organic coating of a semiconductor be used to produce e-h pairs in the latter. © 1979.
