A new species of Megaselia Rondani (Diptera: Phoridae) from Scotland

Abstract

Megaselia wigtownensis sp. n. from Scotland is newly described. A neotype for the closely related M. picta (Lehmann) is designated. Megaselia baezi Disney is synonymised with M. aequilateralis Schmitz, following recognition of a misleading statement in the original description of the latter.
