Abstract

A new species of Melanographium Saccardo, M. calami N. Srivastava, A.K. Srivastava & Kamal, collected in India on dead leaf sheaths of Calamus tenuis Roxb., is described and illustrated. The history of the genus and the nomenclature of its taxa are reviewed and a key to its species is provided.
