Abstract

This research is motivated by being one thing that must be a matter of common concern. Not only that, social media has experienced increasingly rapid development in the following years. Until now, the social networks with the most users include Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. That requires media as an instrument that can connect people. The research aims to obtain descriptive results on the influence of social media on students' hedonistic lifestyles. The research method used is associative quantitative with a population of 396 students and a sample of 57 students. The sampling technique used is random sampling. The data collection technique is by providing a test instrument in the form of a questionnaire with a choice of answers that have been tested through a validity test and a reliability test which results in a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.685 which means that 0.685 > 0.6 so that from these results it can be concluded that the variable having a Cronbach's Alpha value is already RELIABLE. The data obtained by analysis was carried out by carrying out a normality test using the Liliefors test and the results obtained were normally distributed data. The results of the research on the simple linear regression test showed that there was a significant influence between Social Media and the hedonistic lifestyle in SMPN 33 Bekasi students. The results of this data analysis test stated that the hypothesis in this study was accepted.
