Abstract

Electrocoagulation (EC) is an efficient method for textile wastewater treatment. Researches are mainly focused on the technical performance of this process, while its economic aspect has been usually neglected. This paper deals with a simplified operating cost analysis for the treatment of a textile wastewater by EC using iron and aluminium electrode materials. The effects of various parameters such as wastewater conductivity and pH, current density and operating time, on the operating cost have been discussed for two electrode materials, separately. © 2003 Elsevier B.V.
