Abstract

Expressed sequence tags (ESTs) were obtained from complementary DNA libraries derived from the brain of the cichlid fish, Oreochromis niloticus. Single-pass sequencing of 183 cDNA clones generated 294 ESTs; 57 of these clones (31%) were identified based on their similarity to sequences in GenBank.
