Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine jointly and separately the effects of Environmental Education Program with Family Involvement Based on Project Approach, Environmental Education Program Based on Project Approach, and Environmental Education Family Involvement Activities on environmental attitudes of 5-6 year-old children. There were four study groups as three experimental groups and a control group in the study. There were 22 children, in Experimental Group 1; there were 21 children, in Experimental Group 2; Experimental Group 3 had 22 children; The Control Group consisted of 23 children. The data of the study were obtained via, Children’s Attitudes Scale Towards the Environment-Preschool Version (CATES-PV). In the analysis of the obtained data, independent samples T-test among inferential statistical techniques, One-Way Analysis of Variance for Independent Samples (ANOVA), One-Way Analysis of Variance for Dependent Samples (ANOVA) were used. According to the results; it was concluded that Environmental Education Program with Family Involvement Based on Project Approach (PAKCEP) had a positive significant effect on environmental attitude scores of children in Experimental Group 1, Environmental Education Program Based on Project Approach (PCEP) had a positive significant effect on environmental attitude scores of children in children in Experimental Group 2, and Environmental Education Family Involvement Activities (CAKE) had a positive significant effect on environmental attitude scores of children in Experimental Group 3. Experimental Group 1 was determined as the group with the highest increase in attitude towards the environment mean score among three experimental groups. Experimental Group 2 was ranked as the second and Experimental Group 3 was ranked as the last in terms of increase in attitude towards the environment score among experimental groups.
