Abstract

Publishing educational materials electronically in a multimedia environment dramatically extends access and availability beyond formal or traditional educational sites. This is best illustrated by the growing popularity of multimedia documents, such books on tapes and online documents, among diverse user groups. However, there are several obstacles that could impede wide scale information dissemination via electronic media. One of these problems is the elimination of the misconception that knowledge resides only in fixed media.
