Abstract

Three parts are covered in this thorough analysis. Geographic information systems (GIS) and terminology like climate, climate change, and resistance to climate change are defined in the first section. The second part of the article outlines some of the areas in which GIS is useful for climate change analysis and adaptation. These areas include the role of GIS, monitoring of vegetation and GIS, carbon tracing and calculating with GIS, monitoring of temperatures on land and GIS, erosion tracking and management with GIS, tracking of the ocean and coastlines with GIS, disease and health with GIS, food monitoring and GIS, farming and GIS, and flooding and GIS. The final section demonstrates how much more difficult it would be to completely understand and address the issues brought on by climate change without the utilize of Remote Sensing (RS) and GIS. Since the detrimental effects of climate change are still being felt, RS and GIS are essential for regulating it and guaranteeing humanity's survival.
