Abstract

This paper presents the author's experience related to the small-signal stability analysis of a very large interconnected system. Small-signal stability analysis is the tool of choice for assessing the need and impact of power system stabilizers on damping of electromechanical oscillations. Tools and methodologies for such analysis are well established, so the focus of this paper is on the challenges associated with input data and analysis of results on a very large interconnected power system. © 2007 IEEE.
