Abstract
An experiment was conducted during rainy season (kharif) of 1989 and 1990 to study the effect of intercropping and nitrogen on growth and yield of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.). and groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) at New Delhi. The intercropping had detrimental effect on growth, yield attributes and pod yield of groundnut Growth and yield attributes of sunflower were not affected due to intercropping. However, yield was affected due to varying plant density. N application boosted the growth and yield of sunflower, while groundnut did not respond.
