The Effect of Architectural Factors on Social Interactions in Designing Poetics Centers

Abstract

Today , due to poor communication spaces in cities , poetics centers as public spaces play a major role in connecting people , and porviding social interactions. The aim of this research was to study social interactions in poetics centers and find architectural factors influencing the design of poetics spaces aiming to increased social interactions. In the first step , in order to achieve the theoretical of the research , the information was gathered through the library method. Then , quantitatively , a questionnaire on architectural factors in designing poetics centers and factors affecting social interactions was used. The samples were selected from among 203 members of a poem assembly in Shiraz. The results showed that physical and social factors had the most direct impact on young people's social interactions and , based on the study results , it is suggested that designers of poetics centers should pay more attention to physical factors.
