This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of online communication in the spread of hate speech on social media. In conducting this analysis, the researcher uses a qualitative research method, the Semotika method, which is a research that describes the situation on Instagram social media. hate is an expression that shows people from certain social groups who express differences, race, national origin, religion, and gender. Based on the results of research that has been done on Instagram influencers, it is stated that hate speech against influencers on Instagram social media is caused by interactions carried out by accounts that create controversy against these influencers. In addition, social media also provides and forms new ways of communicating and contributes to providing a choice of positive content in the midst of the chaos of existing information.
