Abstract
The Annual Review of Information Science and Technology is published for the American Society for Information Science. The series reflects research, technology and practice in the field of information science and technology and, particularly, the interests and concerns of ASIS members and the information science and technology community at large. Each annual volume contains 8-12 chapters on topics of current and continuing interest to information professionals. The set of chapters is designed to fit within a generic master plan, thereby providing continuity to the series and diversity within each volume. Each volume contains 1 or more chapters dealing with "Planning for Information Systems and Services," "Basic Techniques and Technologies" and "Applications." The contents of the chapters in volume 32, which is now in production, are discussed.
