Abstract

With the advancement of new Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), newhabits are incorporated into the daily life of the population. In education, these new technologies,especially with the inclusion of the computer, it has emerged as an more alternative in teaching andlearning process and has led discussions on the current design of this process. The high number ofeducational software and various forms of computer use indicate that this technology can be usefulfor education. However, the education process did not significant changes that could provide the useof these technologies in innovative ways. There was only one adjustment that allowed thetechnology was gradually including educational processes, making it the only automated. Therewasn ́t reflection on this change and the paradigm was based on the traditional teaching process. Inthis context, this article presents the results obtained with given training to teachers, which alloweda space to reflect the actual needs cognitive of their students and allowed this teacher expressautonomously, translating these needs into digital educational games which were in line with theirdaily lives and the needs of their students. As a result it was noted that: i) The involvement of theteacher in the development of digital educational game and your understanding of the cognitiveprocess in using this tool proved to be essential in the success of the adoption of this teachingpractice; ii) the presence of a multidisciplinary team of education professionals (pedagogues,graduates, psychologists) and software development professionals is essential in sustaining thecreation, implementation and evaluation of learning environments that use Digital EducationalGames; iii) The conclusion that the students of this generation are motivated and/or stimulateddifferently and that this feature is the core of their learning was also much important.
