Abstract

The aim of this study was to describe and analyze how the organizational commitment of servers is configured in Forum Lafayette, Belo Horizonte (MG), given the difficulties due to the headcount replacement and reduction, as a result of compliance of laws. The analytical model adopted was the multidimensional approach of Meyer and Allen (1991). The field research is characterized as descriptive, with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The data collection techniques used were: documentary survey (secondary data were analyzed using documentary analysis), questionnaires (primary data were statistically tabulated, univariate and bivariate ways) and interviews (primary data were analyzed using the content analysis technique), featuring a triangulation of methods. Those were observed: weaknesses in the servers commitment, which is guided substantially in their stability, and correlations between demographic and normative and calculative dimensions of commitment in several ways, as well as contradictions between data obtained by different instruments. Given the limitations of the study, several suggestions for future research were listed.
