Flora of Ceará, Brazil: Solanum (Solanaceae)

Abstract

This work presents a survey of Solanum (Solanaceae), as part of the project "Flora of Ceará". Morphological studies, collections and field observations were performed. Identifications were based on specialized bibliography, complemented by the analysis of collections of brazilian and international herbaria including types specimens. In Ceará Solanum is represented by 31 species, 26 of which occur in protected areas, and ten taxa are new records. Identification key, comments, illustrations and images of the species are provided.
