Abstract
The aim of the study was to analyse the effect on the explosive strength and agility of young goalkeepers through specific training without and with the ballast vest at 5% of body weight. Fourteen football goalkeepers were studied, divided into two study groups: six belonged to the experimental group and eight to the control group, in the U-16 and U-19 categories. They underwent six sessions of specific training focused on strength and agility, the control group without a weighted waistcoat and the experimental group with the use of the ballast vest at 5% of body weight. The sample shows normal values in the Saphiro-Wilk test. The variables analyzed were explosive strength through the "My Jump 2" application and the Lloureq agility test and adapted. The main results showed that the experimental group improved in all the variables analysed significantly (p<0,05) and with a larger effect size than the control group, both overall and by categories of play. In conclusion, the use of specific training for the football goalkeeper shows that they are a suitable and advantageous training medium for the goalkeeper in training, with special attention to the use of the ballast vest as a specific training tool.
