Abstract

Phosphinooxazoline (PHOX) ligands are highly effective in Pd catalyzed asymmetric substitutions of allylic compounds. Amines, malonates, nitronates and other soft nucleophiles were employed. Mechanistic aspects were studied by NMR and x-ray crystal structure analyses. Particular emphasis was placed on highly enantioselective allylic substitutions at cyclic substrates.
