Abstract

A new species of Eledone is described from the southwestern Atlantic at depths of 60 to 160 m, off Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The characters that distinguish this species from the other species of the genus are presented, as well as morphometric comparsion with the sympatric Eledone massyae Voss, 1964.
