Abstract
The motive of this contribution is an inquiry on the divisions of the city, and the nature of internal frontiers. Three main types are analysed : - Imposed frontiers, determined by politics, strategy and planning. - Spontaneous frontiers, caused by the process of economic and social segregation. - And imaginary frontiers, wich determine an unusual structuration of urban territory in people’s mind and induce a way of grasping constructions, by anticipating the behaviours and relationship with space.
