Abstract
This article introduces the didactic engineering as a particular field of language teaching. It defends a postmodern didactic engineering that links the instrumental reason and the use of new technologies of communication with the humanist educational reason. Several theoretical conceptions of the school exercises are discussed in order to show the specificity of Vygotsky's learning activities of the didactic sequences.
