Abstract

Recent seismic studies presented evidence for mantle upwelling and magmatic intrusions in the Cathaysia Block in South China. However, the key evidence or crustal velocity structure to understand crustal magma chambers that contributed to ore mineralization remain unclear. In this study. We collected a large number of Pg phase arrivals from 2009 to 2017 and carried out a P-wave tomography analysis in South China. Our results reveal a low-velocity anomaly adjacent to the Shaoguan region, which may be associated with concealed magmatic intrusions in this area. These intrusions may be linked with the widespread Yanshanian metallogeny in this region.
