Abstract

How mathematics is taught in class, little by little affects students' belief in mathematics so that students' belief in mathematics is influenced by learning situations in class. This study aims to determine students’ mathematical creative thinking skills and beliefs in the material of linear equations and inequalities. The type of research used in this research is qualitative research. The research. The research method used is the descriptive analysis method The subjects in this study were grade VIII students who were in Wanakerta Village, which numbered 7 students. The sampling technique in this study is a purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used is a mathematical creative thinking skills test, belief questionnaire, interviews, and field notes. The data analysis techniques in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The result showed that students’ creative thinking skills were in the medium category with a percentage of 58% and students’ beliefs were in the good category with a percentage of 76%.
