Abstract
Background: In the context of a humanitarian crisis such as the HIV pandemic, adolescents and young people, who are a critical population in this struggle, will face an uncertain and bleak future if action is not taken in time. Objective: To reflect on how humanitarian crises impact the health of adolescents and young people with HIV/AIDS. Main topics under analysis: Humanitarian crises impacted access to HIV diagnosis and treatment for adolescents and young people with HIV/AIDS. In humanitarian emergencies, responses focus on providing supplies to address issues like hunger, poverty, water scarcity, lack of education and shelter, and ecosystem management. Conclusion: Humanitarian crises have an impact on the health of adolescents and young people with HIV/AIDS and pose a major challenge in terms of access to and care for health services.
