ANALISIS YURIDIS PERANAN BAWASLU KOTA BATAM DALAM PENGAWASAN PEMILIHAN PRESIDEN TAHUN 2024 (STUDI PENELITIAN BAWASLU KOTA BATAM)

Abstract

This research analyzes the crucial role of the Batam City Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in maintaining the integrity of the 2024 Presidential Election. Using a juridical approach, this research examines related regulations, especially Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections, to understand the authority and duties of Bawaslu in ensuring fairness and transparency of the election process. A descriptive qualitative methodology was used, with data collection through literature studies and in-depth interviews with Bawaslu members, related stakeholders and the community. The research results reveal that the Batam City Bawaslu plays a central role in supervising all stages of the election, from nomination to vote recapitulation. The proposed solutions include strengthening the capacity of Bawaslu, increasing community participation through voter education and easy reporting mechanisms, utilizing information technology, strict law enforcement, and cross sector collaboration. This research concludes that the role of Batam City Bawaslu is vital in maintaining the integrity of the 2024 Presidential Election. By implementing the right strategy, Bawaslu can overcome challenges and execute its duties optimally, ensuring honest, fair and democratic elections.
