Abstract
This conceptual overview examines four leisure components that impact upon the older adult's morale: time, activities, preferences, and competence. The interrelationships between these components are also discussed. Research needs concerning leisure and recreation in the lives of the aged are listed and im plications for the helping professions are posited. © 1982, Sage Publications. All rights reserved.
