Abstract
The author reflects on guidelines for the management of osteoarthritis with exercise which were published by the Osteoarthritis Research Society International. He suggests that the guidelines are not clear enough for physical therapists to determine when and how much exercise to prescribe to osteoarthritis patients. He argues that until physical therapists have adequate information about how and when to use exercise therapy they should rely on evidence based treatment.
