Abstract
In order to estimate the antibiotic resistance profile in Greece, samples from the environment (soil and water), traditional foods (honey, ham, dairy and seafoods) and from human intestinal flora were investigated for the development of antimicrobial resistance. A multiresistance antibiotic profile was detected for most of the bacterial strains tested, and significant resistance profiles for the commonly used antibiotics were observed. © 2008 Informa UK Ltd.
