Abstract

The study investigated structural and electromagnetic properties of lithium-titanium-zinc ferrite ceramics of Li0.65Fe1.6Ti0.5Zn0.2Mn0.05O4 composition with different content of ZrO2 additive obtained by sol-gel method. Samples were prepared by using standard ceramic technology. Zirconia was added to the synthesized powder prior to sample sintering at different percentage (0.1; 0.2; 0.5; 1; 2 by wt%). The sample microstructure was studied by scanning electron microscopy. It was shown that an increase in the content of additive in ferrite leads to reduction of the average grain size. Electrical properties of ferrite were investigated by two-probe spreading resistance analysis. It was found that electrical resistivity of ferrite changes as a result of the change in its microstructure. It was shown that ferrite with 1 wt% ZrO2 content exhibits high density and high electrical resistivity. It was founded that the addition of zirconium dioxide has a low impact on the Curie temperature of the ferrite samples.
